‘UPND should not interfere with Judiciary’

HIGH Court.

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Lusaka province youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba has said the United Party for National Development (UPND) should not interfere with operations of the Judiciary.
Mr Kamba said the Judiciary is an independent arm of Government and should be left to operate without any interference.
“The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government which does not need to be unnecessarily dragged into individual political interests,” he said in an interview yesterday.
Mr Kamba said the recent manueuvres by some opposition political parties to hoodwink the Judiciary to act in their favour whenever they are on the wrong side of the law should not be condoned.
He said the UPND should own up and take responsibility of their actions or risk being irrelevant to the political dispensation of the country.
Mr Kamba said it is cardinal for the UPND to accept that the PF won the August 11, 2016 elections under President Lungu.
He said the UPND members of Parliament apologising in the last sitting of parliament is a sign that the UPND are gradually accepting that their party is not ruling the nation.
Mr Kamba said time for politicking is long gone and that it is time to ensure that developmental projects are implemented across the country.
He said those that want to continue politicking should wait for 2021 when the country will be readying for general elections.
