UPND SG Katuka welcomes ICC probe

UNITED Party for National Development secretary-general Stephen Katuka says the reporting of its president Hakainde Hichilema and vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity is surprising.
Mr Katuka said it is surprising given the levels of alleged “abuse and discrimination UPND and its supporters are currently receiving, as well as the numerous calls by Mr Hichilema for peace and unity”.
He said in a statement yesterday that UPND would, however, welcome the independent scrutiny of the ICC and bodies concerned with the protection of human rights in light of the current situation in Zambia.READ MORE
