UPND protests adoption

KELVIN CHONGO, Lusaka
UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) officials in Chawama constituency in Lusaka have expressed displeasure at the party’s national management committee’s decision to adopt former Patriotic Front (PF) member Potiphar Tembo as party’s candidate for this year’s elections.
The officials said in an interview in Chawama yesterday that the constituency leadership had identified a credible candidate who the party had adopted but was dropped at the last minute for Mr Tembo.
UPND Chawama constituency committee member Clement Mambwe said it is unfortunate that the party leadership could defy its grass-roots members.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
