UPND justifies attack

ONE of the Patriotic Front cadres attacked in Monze battling for her life in a local hospital.

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) spokesperson Charles Kakoma has justified the violence in which his party supporters allegedly beat up some Patriotic Front members in Monze on Friday.
Brenda Shabantu of the PF was allegedly beaten and stripped by UPND supporters campaigning ahead of a by-election in Mwaanza ward.
Mr Kakoma said his party supporters were merely acting in self-defence and wondered why the Monze incident is being highlighted when there is political violence in many parts of the country.
