UPND banned over killings

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) has again been suspended from campaigning in Kanyama constituency following the gruesome murder of two Patriotic Front (PF) members by suspected cadres of the leading opposition. This is barely a week after Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) banned the opposition political party from campaigning in Ikeleng’i constituency in North-Western Province for allegedly engaging in violence. While returning from the burial of their colleague in Ikeleng’i on July 24, UPND cadres ran amok at a market and assaulted people, including a Zambia News and Information Services reporter, Victor Mwila.
