ALMOST all lead characters in the Zambezi Magic latest drama series, Mpali, are not new to the screen apart from promising actress Shakirah Phiri, starring as Tamara, Nguzu’s sixth wife.
Hats off to the producer of the series, Frank Sibbuku, and writer Henry Joe Sakala who discovered her during an audition she attended in 2017.
In Mpali, Tamara is the youngest of the six wives who got married to a rich man called Nguzu.
Nguzu lives with all his six wives on his farm mansion, but their daily life is full of tension as the wives constantly fight for their husband’s attention.
