Union prods mines on energy

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
THE Confederation of Trade Unions of Zambia (COTUZ) says mining companies must continue to engage Government for a lasting solution to the power crisis in the country.
COTUZ president Joe Kamutumwa said in a statement yesterday that the energy crisis has affected many sectors such as mines, manufacturing, construction and agriculture.
“COTUZ is aware that mining companies, Government and the workers need to work together in order to resolve the current power problems and avert mine closures and consequently job losses,” Mr Kamutumwa said.
