UNDER- 20 national team coach Chisi Mbewe has picked 25 players, among them two foreign-based ones, for the 2023 Egypt Africa Cup of Nations kicking off on February 19.
The young Chipolopolo left yesterday for the West African tour of duty where they will play two friendlies before heading to Egypt for the continental championship.
According to the list released by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) yesterday, Mbewe has retained the majority of the players that played at the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Under-20 Championship in eSwatini.
Zambia beat Mozambique 1-0 in the final.
The foreign-based players that have made the cut are midfielders Richard Ngoma and Peter Chikola.
The two will join the team in Egypt.
Usual suspects goalkeeper Jeban Tembo, midfielder Songa Chipyoka and striker Kingston Mutandwa, among others, have made the squad.
Zambia will face Nigeria tomorrow and on Monday.
