Ukusefya date set

THE Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) has set August 27 and August 28, 2016, as the dates for this year’s Ukusefya Pang’wena traditional ceremony.
The BRE has also called for peaceful campaigns ahead of the August 11 general elections.
In an interview, BRE spokesperson James Mulenga said the establishment has deliberately set the dates after the general elections because they do not want the celebrations to be dominated by political campaigns.
“We do not want the celebrations to be turned into politics and that is why we have set the dates after the elections. In case there will be a re-run, at least there will only be two political parties so we do not expect any disturbance,” he said.
