UK grants K406 million for solar power

THE United Kingdom (UK) has provided K406 million for expanding the solar energy market in Zambia to help ensure increased and sustainable access by citizens.The UK’s Minister of State for Africa Harriett Baldwin said this during a signing ceremony of the Energy Africa Compact with the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday evening.
Ms Baldwin said K36 million will be granted to three local companies, Vitalite, Kazang and WID Energy, to improve access to off-grid energy solutions by poor Zambians.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
