Trio imprisoned for having papers used to make currency notes

KALUNGA MUSONDA, Kabwe
THE Kabwe Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two men of Serenje district and a woman of Solwezi to three years imprisonment each for being in possession of papers used for making different currency notes.
This is in a matter in which Victor Mwelwa, 43, a Zambia Army officer, Lillian Mwansa, 38, a civilian employee in the Zambia Army, Mercy Mvula, 28, Melvin Mushili ,29, and Elijah Kapika ,34, are jointly charged with two counts of being in possession of papers for forgery and implements of forgery.
The accused persons last Thursday appeared before Kabwe Magistrate Pumulo Mubita, and Mvula, Mushili and Kapika pleaded guilty to the possession of papers for forgery charge while Mwelwa and Mwansa denied the charge.READ MORE
