Travellers stranded in Mufumbwe

SCORES of travellers were on Saturday stranded in Mufumbwe after bus operators grounded their vehicles fearing unrest following the victory of the United Party for National Development (UPND) in the district.
The UPND’s Elliot Kamondo beat Patriotic Front’s Mufumbwe legislator Steven Masumba, who was at the near tail in the five-horse race.
The UPND further took charge of the council, winning all the 16 wards.
To crown it all, the UPND won the council chairmanship, an equivalent of mayor.
The victory sent UPND cadres into a frenzy declaring that they were now in charge of Government.READ MORE
