ESTHER MSETEKA, Lusaka
ZAMBIA Tourism Agency (ZTA) is optimistic that this year’s travel expo will provide an opportunity for about 50 local and international organisations to create valuable business relations that will enhance their marketing activities.
According to a statement recently, ZTA says the Zambia Travel Expo (ZATEX) is expected to attract buyers from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey, Japan, India, China, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania.
ZTA says the main aim of hosting ZATEX is to help create a networking platform for industry players in the region and the global tourism industry.
“Our vision, working with tourism partners, is to develop ZATEX into one of the most effective networking platforms in the southern African region within the shortest time possible. The agency, therefore, invites companies to participate in this year’s ZATEX and help grow Africa’s rich tourism potential,” it says.
ZTA says currently, about 38 exhibitors have confirmed participation in this year’s event.
The organisations that have confirmed participation include Marula Lodge, Croc Valley Camp, Flatdogs Camp, Royal Zambezi Lodge, Kafue National Park, Mukambi Safaris, Protea Hotels and Radisson Blu Hotel.
Others are Sanctuary Retreats, Zambelozi Island, Cresta Hotels, All Season Travel and Tours, Memorable Journeys, Mozambique Tourism, Mount Hermon Safari and Sandy’s Creations Resorts, among many others.
“So far, 24 international and four media firms have confirmed participation. ZATEX 2017 preparations are underway and it is indeed an exciting period for the agency team to witness all their efforts start unfolding and yielding fruits,” ZTA says.
