PRESIDENT Sata says his administration greatly values the role traditional ceremonies play as springboards for development, especially in respective chiefdoms.
Mr Sata said traditional ceremonies are not only embodiments of the country’s heritage but also serve as springboards for development.
Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) reports that Mr Sata said this in a speech read for him by Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Nkandu Luo during the Ichibwela-Mushi traditional ceremony in Mkushi on Saturday.
He said traditional ceremonies are important platforms for development because they provide opportunities for chiefs and government leaders to interact and exchange ideas of mutual benefit.
Mr Sata said Government is committed to delivering development to rural areas as evidenced by investments into construction of social infrastructure such as roads, health centres and schools. – ZANIS.
