Trade fair attracts over 350 companies

OVER 350 local and foreign companies have confirmed participation at this year’s Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) that is expected to be officially opened on June 29, 2017 by Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The 53rd International Trade Fair, slated for June 28 to July 4 under the theme ‘Innovation for industrialisation’, will see the participation of 292 local firms and 62 foreign exhibitors.
ZITF vice-president Ajay Vashee said the ZITF is expected to attract more exhibitors to meet the 722 exhibition spaces.
Among the countries that are expected to participate include Indonesia, Zimbabwe, United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Pakistan, Egypt and Uganda.
Local new entrants for this year’s show are Indeni, SeedCo, World Vision, Ischool, Dangote, Sunshare, Tekstila, GVSL Mantraco, Tazara, Embassy of Indonesia, Tanzania, Trade Policy Research Institute and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
And preparations for the trade fair have intensified, with some exhibitors cleaning their stands.
A check by the Daily Mail in Ndola yesterday found most workers sweeping, landscaping, reconstructing and painting their stands.
The companies included Zambia Daily Mail Limited, Bank of Zambia, Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia, Zambia Public Procurement Authority, Zaffico, Napsa, Ndola City Council and Saro Agro Limited.
Other exhibitors are the Ministry of Agriculture, Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA), Mulungushi University, Zamtel, National Council for Construction, Kafubu Water and Sewerage Company and Zesco, among other companies.
