OVER 3,000 employees in the tourism sector will receive half pay for four months in the wake of COVID-19.
The part salaries for March, April, May and June have been secured by the Hotel Catering and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (HCAWUZ).
HCAWUZ president Michelo Chizyuka said the negotiated package is expected to be reviewed at the end of this month.
In an interview, Mr Chizyuka said the union will continue to bargain with employers in the hospitality sector to safeguard employment of its members.
“Livingstone being the tourist capital of the country has been hit negatively by COVID-19 and this has resulted in some people losing their jobs,” he said. CLICK TO READ MORE
