Tina revels in Miss Hope International

MODEL Tina Shinga, who was crowned First Princess at the Miss Hope International pageant that was recently held in Cape Town, South Africa, says it was a great experience participating in the pageant and she is happy that she made the country proud.
Tina, who is no stranger to the catwalk business having represented the country at other international pageants, says she is hoping to get more support so that she can continue raising the Zambian flag high.
The Miss Hope International, which attracted 35 contestants from around the world, was won by Miss Hope International Zimbabwe Natalie Memory while the Miss Hope International South Africa was crowned Second Princess.
The Miss Hope International pageant focusses mainly on the contestants’ charity work.
“We had to do presentations on our works for the community and were judged from that. We had different categories like fitness, national costume and evening gown. I had a great experience and am glad that I made Zambia proud,” Tina said when sharing her experience with the Weekend Mail in Lusaka.
“I’m hoping to get more support from people as I continue raising the Zambian flag high through my modelling career.”
This is not Tina’s first success on the international runway; at the Miss World Heritage in 2015, she scooped the Miss Photogenic while at the Miss Diamond Queen of Africa, she was in the top five.
She is also a former Miss Zambia – Zimbabwe winner.
