HUNDREDS of thousands of Lusaka residents have temporarily abandoned their usual undertakings to queue up under a scorching sun to get vaccinated against cholera.
By the close of the day on Wednesday when the exercise started, about 440,000 people had been vaccinated against the highly contagious ailment, which has so far claimed 64 lives in the capital city.
And Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said Government is concerned about the increased number of brought-in-dead cases at cholera centres in Lusaka.
Dr Chilufya said during a press briefing yesterday that with concerted efforts, the epidemic will soon be contained.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
