Dear editor,
MAY I thank Government for finally announcing that the University of Zambia (UNZA) will reopen before the end of February.
But I would like to appeal to UNZA administration, particularly the vice- chancellor, to consider the plight of poor students by reversing the new accommodation rule. Where all newly-accommodated students have to pay the entire annual accommodation fee of about K3,600 for them to access the rooms.
Take into consideration your poor students who are not on bursaries, this condition for paying accommodation fee is not fair, especially that there was no prior sensitisation before the rule took effect.
