Teachers seeking certificates swindled

PRISCILLA CHIPULU, Ndola
A MUSICIAN yesterday appeared in the Ndola Magistrate’s Court for allegedly swindling six teachers out of more than K6,000 after promising to help them register with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ).
Appearing before magistrate Veronica Sikwangala was Mathews Silungwe of Kabushi township, who is charged with personation and six other counts of theft.
On September 25 this year in Ndola, Silungwe allegedly falsely represented himself as an inspector from TCZ to Grace Sokoni.
He is also alleged to have received different amounts of money amounting to K6,230 from Silvia Nalungwe, Daniel Phiri, Natasha Mwansa, Ketty Siwale and Herold Mwila.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
