Teachers’ colleges opening date moved

NANCY SIAME, Lusaka
THE Ministry of General Education has rescheduled the opening date for colleges of education from January 9 to January 16, 2017 because of the delayed promotional examination results.
Ministry of General Education spokesperson Hillary Chipango said the opening date for the second and third-year students had been rescheduled to make it easy for the completion of marking and publication of results.
“The first-years will open according to the college calendar on Monday, January 9, 2017 for orientation purposes,” Mr Chipango said.
He said the closing date for the first term remains Thursday, April 13, 2017 as indicated in the college calendar.
He named the affected colleges as Mufulira College of Education, Mongu College of Education, David Livingstone College of Education, Charles Lwanga College of Education, Chipata College of Education and Solwezi College of Education.
Others are Malcolm Moffat College of Education, Kasama College of Education, Mansa College of Education, St. Mary’s College of Education, Kitwe College of Education and all private colleges under the ministry registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia.
