THE function of recruiting teachers has been devolved to districts to curb manipulation and corruption in the selection process, the Teaching Service Commission has said.
Teaching Service commissioner Mutinta Mkandawire said in an interview that conducting the recruitment exercise at district level will accord more graduates an opportunity to apply for jobs.
“Government, through the Teaching Service Commission, has revised the recruitment criteria to give an opportunity to teachers in all districts to apply for jobs,” Ms Mkandawire said.
She said recruiting teachers at district level will also help improve staffing levels, especially at rural schools http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
