Tarring of Nseluka-Chozi launched

HONE SIAME, Kasama
PRESIDENT Lungu yesterday launched the tarring of 82 kilometres of the 172 kilometres of the Nseluka-Kayambi-Chozi road in Mungwi district with a warning to

the contractor against shoddy works.
China Geo Engineering Corporation has been engaged to handle the K631 million project, which connects Northern and Muchinga provinces.
President Lungu said the project demonstrates the Patriotic Front’s commitment to boosting economic activities in all parts of the country.
“I am elated to yet again commission works for this road project barely two weeks after I officiated the launch of works for the upgrading of Kawambwa-Mporokoso road covering a distance of 122 kilometres.
“I am glad that this project I am launching comprises works on township roads in Mungwi, a relatively small project but with massive potential for growth, particularly in the agricultural sector,” President Lungu said.
The head of State said Government expects quality works by the contractor and that the project should be done within 36 months.
He also urged the Road Development Agency to ensure that Zambian firms are sub-contracted in line with the 20 percent sub-contracting agency.
Earlier, President Lungu inspected the Zambia National Service (ZNS) Chishimba skills training centre and seized mukula logs.
ZNS commandant Nathan Mulenga commended Government for its support.
