THE Teacher Response against child abuse (TRACA) in Lusaka has implored teachers to take keen interest in their pupils’ welfare for them to open up if they are facing any form of abuse.
Speaking in an interview, TRACA national coordinator Kabinda Mutale said that most pupils face abuse either from their homes or school but fail to open up to their teachers.
Mr Mutale said it is time teachers took interest in their pupils in order to create mutual trust.
Pupils spend most of the time at school. It is, therefore, important to create a teacher and pupil bond to have well-balanced children who will become better citizens in future.â€
