THE Zambia Property Owners Association (ZAPOA) has urged Zambians to take advantage of opportunities in the property development sector to contribute to the country’s economic growth.
The association is a non-profit-making body which was registered in 2014 with the objectives to represent, promote the interest of the real estate sector in Zambia as well as collaborate with other business groupings and foster strong ties with Government and regional counterparts.
In an interview last week, ZAPOA president Daniel Katongo said the real estate sector in the country is still growing and needs support from both local and international investors.
“We are encouraging local investors to stop having the notion that the real estate sector is for foreigners but to get involved. We are encouraging Zambians to invest in the sector because it has huge returns.
“As an association, we have attended several regional conferences, and international property developers have shown interest in the Zambian sector because the market is still young and is not yet saturated,” Mr Katongo said.
