Anticipated China demand boosts copper price

CHINA’s commitment to support private-sector firms has resulted in copper prices increasing to trade at above US$6,200 per tonne.

Copper price weakens

TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
AFTER eight weeks of gains, the copper price on Friday closed on a weak note at US$6,820 a tonne.
However, at the current level, copper, which is Zambia’s major source of foreign exchange is still trading at its highs.
