Supply of US dollar may decline – FNB

KALONDE NYATI, Lusaka
SUPPLY of the United States dollar is expected to dwindle ahead of the deadline for provisional taxes, which falls this Friday, says First National Bank (FNB).
As a statutory obligation, corporates and individuals are required to pay provisional taxes, which are advance payments in the course of the tax year paid by tax-payers in receipt of income other than emoluments from employment or office.

Kwacha expected to remain strong

TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
IN THE short term, the Kwacha is expected to remain strong against the United States (US) dollar as corporates convert to meet their month-end salary obligations and participate in the Treasury bill auction today.
This entails that the local currency market is likely to be awash with sufficient greenback inflows.
