SYNGENTA and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support agriculture and food security activities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The renewed collaboration between the two organisations started in 2013, and is aimed at promoting food security among smallholder farmers.
The company operates through its subsidiary, MRI Seed in Zambia.
According to a statement availed to the Daily Mail on Monday, the two organisations will promote food security by cooperating on improving research and development, technology adoption and farmer know-how to boost farm productivity while tackling new challenges like the recent invasion of the fall armyworm pest in Africa.
