‘Support women in mining’

NALISHEBO NAMAIKO, Lusaka
ACTIONAID Zambia has called on financial institutions to support the newly-formed Women in Mining charter to increase women’s participation in the mining sector.
The charter will rectify existing inequalities, and specifically provide for the inclusion of women in core mining activities.
In October 2016, women from various African countries met in Arusha, Tanzania, to develop and proclaim a Charter of Demands to be heard by decision-makers at various levels of decision-making.
ActionAid Zambia country director Nalucha Ziba said the country has an opportunity to contribute to the growth of a sustainable and well-governed mining sector that effectively garners and deploys resources http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
