Blood transfusion court order saves dying patient
IT was the first of its kind in Zambian medical history for a doctor to seek a court order to save the life of a dying patient. A paediatrician at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) did it in order to do a life-saving blood transfusion on a 15-year-old boy. In an interview with EMELDA MWITWA, Dr Kamusisi Chinyundo says he did not challenge the faith of the boy’s parents with pleasure, but had to do it for the sake of the child.....
