Mazoka only
awaiting appointment with doctors
By

UNITED Party for
National Development (UPND) president Anderson Mazoka will only know
the day that he will return to Zambia after seeing his doctors this
week it has been learnt.
And former
republican President Frederick Chiluba is scheduled to see his
doctors on Tuesday after which he will be told about his latest
heart condition.
UPND secretary for
publicity, Patrick Chisanga said in an interview yesterday
that he spoke to Mr Mazoka from his hospital bed in South Africa in
the morning and that the party president assured him that he was
fine.
"There is
nothing that has changed about Mr Mazoka, he is the same because he
only went for review,'' Mr Chisanga said.
He said Mr Mazoka
told him that the date for his return would only be set next week
after seeing his doctors.
And Chiluba's Press
Aide, Emmanuel Mwamba, said in an interview from South Africa that
Dr Chiluba's medical reviews have been slow but steady.
He said Dr
Chiluba's personal doctor, Dr Justine Kangwa, has been monitoring Dr
Chiluba's health progress closely as mandated.
He said if there
are any developments on Dr Chiluba's health, they would be known
after the medical tests on Tuesday.
Dr Chiluba was
evacuated to South Africa by Government on April 1 to receive
specialist heart treatment.
He was discharged
from Garden Clinic two weeks
ago and is being treated as an out patient.
Government would foot his bills until he returns to Zambia.
Mr Mazoka was flown
to Morningside Clinic in South Africa last week and missed the
official opening of his party's Luapula assembly.
The assembly was
instead officially opened by his deputy for administration Mr
Sakwiba Sikota.
