A woman revealed in
a local court in Lusaka that she made love with her husband's
friend.
Angela Napasa, 27,
of Matero Township revealed that she made love with her husband 's
friend, Avon Singoyi, 22, also of Matero.
Napasa was
testifying in a case in which her husband, Alex Mayunka sued his
friend, Singoyi, for adultery.
Mayunka told the
Matero local court that he married Napasa in 2000 and that he has
two children with her.
He said that he is
a musician of Zambia National Services adding that Singoyi too was a
musician in the same band.
He said that they
met on April 28, 2006 and that they agreed to meet again on Sunday
to record songs at his (Mayunka)'s house.
He said that he was
surprised on Saturday when he reached home to find that lights were
off and his wife, Napasa, was hesitating in opening the door.
Mayunka said that
when he eventually opened the door, he found his friend Singoyi
hiding in the bathroom. He
said as he tried to call neighbours, Singoyi fled.
In
cross-examination, Singoyi asked Mayunka: Didn't you tell me to come
and record songs and why didn't you call the neighbours?
Mayunka said:
"I told you to come and record on Sunday not Saturday.
And I wanted to call the neighbours but you took to your
heels."
Singoyi denied
committing adultery with Napasa.
He said that he had
gone to see Mayunka but he was not around and that he waited for him
at 20:00 hours for 30 minutes in the sitting room when Napasa went
to sleep in the bedroom.
In re-examination,
Mayunka challenged Singoyi.
Singoyi said he had
gone to the house on Saturday so that he could connect the key board
in readiness for the recording.
He also denied
running away from the home, saying that he just left because Mayunka
was drunk.
Asked by the court
why he was in the house while Mayunka was away, and for how long he
waited for him, Singoyi said: "I just waited for Mayunka in the
sitting room for 30 minutes."
But Napasa told the
court that she made love with Singoyi when he entered the bedroom.
She sad that
Singoyi entered the bedroom and started caressing her.
She said that he then switched off the lights and they made
love.
Napasa said that
when her husband returned, Singoyi went to hide in the bathroom.
Singoyi
(to Napasa): Did we make love when I was waiting for your
husband?
Napasa
: We made love and you even switched off the lights.
Passing judgement,
senior presiding justice Elipher Mwewa said that there was
overwhelming evidence of adultery.
She said that sex
could be done in 5 minutes but Singoyi stayed in the house for 30
minutes and that he switched off the lights adding that Napasa
revealed that they made love.
Justice Mwewa
ordered that Singoyi pays Mayunka K1.2 million as compensation, in
monthly instalment of K50,000.
