Student loans shouldn’t be restricted to immediate school-leavers

Dear editor,
I AM concerned about the way bursaries and students’ loans are awarded.
The criterion is such that bursaries and loans are only given to latest graduates
Only school-leavers for a particular year are allowed to apply for the offer.
Does this mean that other school-leavers who completed in the previous years are no longer vulnerable?
Given the limited bursary and loan allocations, a lot of people are left out despite getting good results. Such should be given an opportunity to apply in preceding years.
Moreover these are loans and all recipients are expected to pay back regardless of when one completed GCE.
