MOVIE REVIEW with SHUPE SAKALA
SHOW me a Jason Statham movie any day and I’ll be glued to the screen.
With an assurance of more than plenty action in form of gun shots, fist fights and very fast cars, Statham is no doubt one of the best in the business.
The serious, hunky and sometimes charming Brit has a long list of action flicks to his name, actually enough to carry the bragging rights for a very long time.
Starring in movies like The Transporter trilogy, Revolver, Snatch, The Italian Job and The Fast and the Furious among others, Statham brings his ‘A’ game in The Mechanic: Resurrection, which is a sequel to the 2011 action movie The Mechanic.
In this thriller, the actions of Arthur Bishop (Statham)’s deceitful, cunning yet dazzling lover Gina (Jessica Alba) force him out of retirement and once again his life is in danger as he has to complete an ‘impossible’ list of assassinations of some of the most dangerous men in the world – just to rescue the kidnapped beauty.
Questions abound, but not about whether he can clear the list, but if he is capable of making the killings look like accidents.
Brace for top-notch performances and slick manoevres more so with feature actors like the veteran Tommy Lee Jones making presence.
Catch this must watch movie at the SterKinekor Cinema at the Arcades Mall.
Other movies still on show at the cinema are the comedy Bad Moms, Lights out and the spy movie Jason Bourne which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative (Matt Damon) drawn out of the shadows.
Enjoy the weekend and keep the peace.
