GOVERNMENT intends to lure investors from the Far East dealing in mukula logs to invest in timber value addition factories that will allow Zambians to benefit from the sector.
Yesterday, Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) handed over 52 truckloads of mukula logs with an approximate value of over K7.8 million to the Central Joint Operations Committee (CJOC).
Speaking at the event, Minister of Lands Jean Kapata said adding value to the commodity locally will help curb the illegal trading and indiscriminate cutting of timber.
