State spends K35m on hospitals

GOVERNMENT has in the last two years spent K35.3 million to build four hospitals in Muchinga Province to improve people’s access to medical services.

Initially, the province had one district hospital, which made it difficult for people in the area to have access to quality health care services.

As a result of this challenge, Government embarked on the construction of Mafinga District Hospital at K3.9 milion, while K7.8 million will be spent on Nakonde District Hospital.
Muyombe Hospital is being built at a cost of K3.9 million, while K19.7 million is being spent on Michael Chilufya Sata Hospital.
