State launches US$8.9 million cassava initiative

ESTHER MSETEKA, Lusaka
GOVERNMENT has embarked on a US$8.97 million cassava commercialisation initiative to enhance rural industrialisation and uplift the income levels of women and the youth.
In view of this, Government has launched the US$30 million skills development and entrepreneurship project supporting women and youth, aimed at establishing a diversified and robust industry.
Government, through the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission, will implement the cassava value chain initiative with funding from the African Development Bank.READ MORE
