State gives K480,000 to community school

GOVERNMENT has released K480,000 for the construction of a classroom block, two staff houses and a toilet at Samafunda Community School in Manyinga district.
Manyinga district education board secretary Dickson Mukoyo said yesterday that the project started in April this year and works have advanced.
“The project has really advanced and soon we hope to have all these works completed and handed over to the government so that pupils can start using it,” Mr Mukoyo said.
Samafunda Community School is a mud-and-pole structure which caters for 144 pupils.
Mr Mukoyo said the construction of a classroom block at the school is a great relief because the population of the area has increased since it was upgraded to a district.
He also said the construction of the two staff houses will encourage teachers to go and work at the school.
Mr Mukoyo thanked Government for funding the project and appealed for more funds to construct additional classroom blocks.
