ENERGY Forum Zambia chairperson Johnstone Chikwanda says Government’s decision to find an equity partner for Indeni Petroleum Refinery Limited is necessary in accelerating the refinery capacity.
Mr Chikwanda who is also Indeni Petroleum Refinery Limited immediate past chairman said while there are several options in raising capital for the refinery, finding an equity partner remained the best option.
Recently, Government announced that it was looking for a strategic partner to improve productivity at the oil refinery company in Ndola whose production capacity currently stands at 650 metric tonnes per annum, with about US$6 million needed to reinvest in it.
