Standard vehicle duty ups revenue

THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) says the introduction of the standardised motor vehicle duty has enabled the authority to collect K176 million in the first quarter of this year compared to the K125 million it raised in the same period last year.
The authority has attributed the increase in revenue to the elimination of delays associated with queries arising from under-valuation and the perceived subjectivity in the processing of motor vehicles.
Early this year, ZRA implemented the measure to give power and control to the final owners of the vehicles by promoting transparency, uniformity and simplicity, and by eliminating inconsistencies that had been fuelling corruption in the process as well as reduced CLICK TO READ MORE
