Stand and sing for Zambia

KELVIN CHONGO, Lusaka
GOVERNMENT has directed that all public and private schools should sing the national anthem.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kampamba Mulenga said, in a statement issued by public relations officer Susan Ndumingu yesterday, the national anthem should be sung in all its three stanzas.
Ms Mulenga said the directive was aimed at fostering oneness and instilling into children a spirit of patriotism to the country.
“Government has also directed that all public institutions, both private and public schools, should display the portrait of the President and the national flag,” she said.
Ms Mulenga said that the directives should be implemented with immediate effect.
