Stanchart aids Zambia squash Association

STANDARD Chartered Bank yesterday donated sports kit worth K15,000 to the Zambia Squash Association (ZSA).
Standard Chartered head of retail clients Sonny Zulu said during the presentation ceremony in Lusaka yesterday that sport is an important business that could help Zambia grow its economy.
The bank donated 50 rackets and T-shirts.
“We know that through sport, if we go out there and do very well on a global platform, we believe that we will be able to attract investors and if Zambia continues to win medals, we will attract many tourists who don’t know Zambia,” Zulu said.
And ZSA president Norena Chiteba thanked Standard Chartered for the gesture.
“This is part of the donation of the campaign that we launched in 2013 and basically we realise that for a child to come and play squash, they will need equipment and we want to get the juniors playing. So we are very grateful to Standard Chartered and the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) for the support,” Chiteba said.
NSCZ acting general secretary Innocent Chalabesa commended Standard Chartered Bank for associating with ZSA.
