Speed fine defaulters face ban

LUSAKA motorists who will not pay speed infringement fines by October 1 this year will have to park their vehicles because they will be blocked from paying road tax and vehicle fitness fees.
Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) head of public relations Fredrick Mubanga said in a statement yesterday that erring motorists’ vehicles will be blocked on the Electronic Zambia Transport Information System (e-ZAMTIS).
Mr Mubanga also said in accordance with provisions of the Road Traffic Act number 11 of 2002, all vehicle owners with overdue payments should expect prosecution after the October 1 deadline.
“This will involve summons to appear before the fast-track court,” he said.
