Southern Province to divert trucks

CHALI MULENGA, Livingstone
THE Road Development Agency (RDA) says it will this year construct three bypass roads in Southern Province’s major towns to allow traffic to move freely.
Southern Province engineer Lawrence Mundia said the roads will be constructed in Mazabuka, Choma and Livingstone.
“The agency has observed an increased number of accidents at Shoprite junction in Mazabuka, as the big trucks are not able to negotiate the corner,” Mr Mundia said.
He said in an interview to reduce on accidents at the same spot in Mazabuka, a bypass road will be created for trucks and other heavy vehicles which will not be allowed to pass through the middle of the town.
