South circuit in documentary

HAMUKALE

CHIMWEMWE MWALE, Livingstone
SOUTHERN Province Minister Edify Hamukale says the provincial administration has developed a video documentary to showcase the investment potential of the region.

And Dr Hamukale said Malawian prophet Sherpard Bushiri will be arrested if he attempts to land at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone as reported in some sections of the media.

The minister said the elaborate video documentary will be circulated to all Zambian missions abroad to help market investment opportunities in the province to foreign investors.
Dr Hamukale said President Lungu should be commended for approving the budget to undertake a comprehensive tour of the province to document the video which was done at a huge cost.
“We will circulate 200 copies of the video to showcase investment potential in Southern Province. The videos will be circulated to key ministries and missions representing Zambia in other countries,” he said.
He said this on Monday during the official opening of the first quarter Provincial Development coordinating Committee (PDCC) meeting in Livingstone.
Dr Hamukale said the provincial administration has also successfully conducted a land audit to establish the availability of land for development.
He said all the districts in the province now have profiles and the first ever provincial website under the Smart Zambia initiative.
“We will continue to ensure most of the challenges we face in Southern Province are brought to the fore as we present our presidential quarterly reports to President Lungu.
“The President [Lungu] is abreast with challenges and developments of the province. I have assured him that we remain a united force in serving mother Zambia in the province. I, therefore, urge each one of you to do your best in supporting the cause of team spirit,” Dr Hamukale said.
Dr Hamukale cautioned civil servants against rumour-mongering amongst themselves, and avoid spreading gossip without facts, as it erodes team spirit, and an antidote to progress.
“Let us learn to work as a team. That is the only sure way we will deliver meaningful development. Our main focus should be the people we are employed to serve,” he said.
And Dr Hamukale said police in the province will not hesitate to arrest Malawian Prophet Bushiri for threatening Minister of Religious Affairs and National Guidance Godfridah Sumaili if he attempts to land in the tourist capital.
“Government will only support churches which invest in efforts for the social economic development of our people such as education, health and supporting the vulnerable in society. Some churches are bent on playing on your psychology and satisfying their financial hunger,” he said.
And Southern Province permanent secretary Sibanze Simuchoba urged civil servants to invest in productivity and continue learning best practices from each other.
“Those who want to play the role of rebel and use underhand methods to rock and ruin the reputation of the province, we shall assist you to leave the province,” Mr Simuchoba said.
