South Africa Netball Association aids NAZ

THE South Africa Netball Association has bought 17 air-tickets to enable Zambia national netball team players compete at next month’s Diamond Challenge and Africa Cup Championship.
Netball Association of Zambia (NAZ) general secretary Pritchard Ngoma, who confirmed the development in Lusaka yesterday, said the South Africans will also provide accommodation during the Diamond Challenge.
Ngoma, however, said the association is still scouting for K157,000 for the two competitions.
He said K39,000 has been budgeted for the Diamond League billed for Durban, South Africa, while K118,000 is for the Africa Cup slated for Windhoek, Namibia.
The Diamond Challenge will run from June 12 to 21 while the Africa Cup is scheduled for June 28 to July 4.
“We thank the South African Netball Association for coming to our aid. At least they have lessened pressure on us. But we still need to raise more money. We don’t have return air tickets, the meals also will need to be paid for both in South Africa and Namibia.
“In Namibia, we will need to pay for accommodation on our own. We are appealing to the corporate world to come to our aid,” Ngoma said.
