Soldier wanted for wife stabbing

A 27-YEAR-OLD woman of Ndola’s Mushili Bonano township is nursing serious injuries in Ndola Central Hospital after she was allegedly stabbed in the back by her husband, who is a soldier based at Tug-Argan Barracks.
The soldier has gone into hiding, but police are looking for him to help them with investigations into the stabbing.
Copperbelt deputy commissioner of police Byemba Musole identified the victim as Mercy Lumamba and the soldier as Josephat Mutale, aged 42.
He said Mutale allegedly stabbed Ms Lumamba on Sunday after suspecting her of having an extra-marital affair with another man.
“We have recorded an assault case where a soldier allegedly assaulted his wife following a marital dispute. We will make inquiries in the matter until it is brought to its conclusive end,” Mr Musole said.
