Solar project gets high ranking

THE World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) says Zambia’s scaling-up solar project is a leading and great example of sustainable energy development for Africa and the whole world.
IFC vice-president for the Middle East and Africa Sergio Pimenta said improving operational efficiency in the energy sector will help Zambia attain Sustainable Development Goals, the Vision 2030, and programmes listed in the Seventh National Development Plan.
Mr Pimenta said this yesterday during a bilateral meeting with the Zambian delegation on the sidelines of the 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Bali, Indonesia.
This is according to a statement issued by Ministry of Finance public relations officer Chileshe Kandeta.
