Society House nears completion

THE National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) says the renovation of Society House in Lusaka is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
NAPSA director for investments David Chewe said the refurbishment of Society House on Cairo Road is on course in line with the revised programme.
Mr Chewe said in Lusaka recently that last year, NAPSA revised the completion date to the second quarter of 2015 due to the challenges during the construction process.
In 2010, NAPSA released funds for the renovation of the multi-storey building owned by the Zambia National Building Society, and works were scheduled for completion by June last year.
“We were supposed to complete the project by June last year, but due to various challenges along the way, we are only expected to finish the building between April and June this year,” Mr Chewe said.
The new Society House, to cost US$100 million will accommodate a hotel, retail shops, offices and a multi-deck car park with a capacity of 800 vehicles.
