A THIRTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD woman of SOS area who used to sneak her boyfriend into the bedroom while her husband, a security guard was on night duty has lost her 19-year-old marriage.
The court heard that Ruth Nanyinza, was found committing adultery on July 21 by her husband’s sister and neighbours when her husband was at work.
Nanyinza admitted committing adultery and told the court that she has been sleeping with her boyfriend for her to get money so that she buys food for home.
“Since we got married, my marriage has been full of problems. I move about washing for the neighbours to find money for food. My husband is irresponsible and spends all his money on beer,” she said.
Nanyinza told the court that she loves her boyfriend more than her husband because he gives her money and shows concern about her welfare.
This is in a case in which Steward Sichamba 44, of Chipata compound sued his wife for divorce. The two got married in 1998 and have four children together. Part of the bride price was paid.
Earlier, Sichamba told the court that problems in his marriage started when the two came to Lusaka from the village.
He told the court that his children told him that his wife sneaks a man in the house every time he was working in the night.
In his submissions, he pleaded with the court to grant the two divorce so that they go separate ways.
In passing Judgement, magistrate Pauline Newa sitting with magistrate Miyanda Banda granted the couple divorce and ordered that all properties acquired together be shared equally.
